How to activate the inactive: A Workshop to Reach Out to Those Members You Haven’t Seen For Awhile - Sunday, February 26, 2pm-5pm, NEW LOCATION: Colonial Park UCC, Harrisburg Time passes.  You haven’t seen a member in church for some time.  Do you send a letter, call and/or visit? Why do people stop attending church?  Is it because they are angry with changes being made in the life of the congregation or does life just happen and they get out of the habit of attending?  This workshop offers practical ways to develop a plan of action to welcome back the inactive.  Pastors and church leaders are invited to attend.  NO CHARGE but advance registration is required. Growing Stronger Churches: Going Green - Saturday, March 10, 9:30am-3pm, Colonial Park UCC, Harrisburg  Members from the Interfaith Coalitionfor the Environment will be present, view the film “Renewal,” attend two workshops and make plans for what your congregation could do in the future.

 

UCC Justice Leaders Engaging and Developing Local Church Training - March 30-31, Mensch Mill Conference Center, Alburtis, PA Justice Leaders Engagaing and Developing is a curriculum to help congregations understand the biblical and socio-cultural grounding for doing justice work. Can be used for bible studies, Sunday school programs and retreats. This training event is for UCC lay leaders and clergy who wish to become facilitators of the Justice LED program in their congregation.

 

Regional ONA Gathering (Using the ONA Process to become a Vital Church)- Saturday, March 31, 9:30am-12noon, Conference Office The ONA Minstry Team is holding a Regional Gathering to share information and resources with ONA and ONA Questioning Congregations. This workshop will share resources to use as your congregation moves through the ONA process, tips for dealing with conflict, and strategies of success which often leads to revitalization of your congregation.

 

New Life (Easter) Clergy Retreat - April 9-12 (part-time or full-time), Hartman Center After Lent, Holy Week and Easter, clergy are invited to come to Hartman Center for some renewal time. No planned activities. Come for a day or the entire time. Cost: $50 for meals and lodging at Michaux Lodge.

 

Bi-Annual PCC/UEK Colloquy - July 1-6 at Lancaster Theological Seminary Share a cross-cultural experience with other clergy and lay leaders from our conference and Germany for several days of woship, wrestling with current issues of the church, field trips and meals. The topic this time is “Invitational Ministry.”
