On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the selection of Rev. Dr. Monica Dawkins-Smith as the candidate for Conference Minister for Penn Central Conference.
According to our PCC Bylaws, “The Conference Minister shall be nominated by the Board of Directors and elected by ballot of the Conference at an Annual or Special Meeting. The Conference Minister shall be elected to serve a term of six years or until a successor is elected and shall be eligible for reelection.”
A Special Meeting of Penn Central Conference has been scheduled for Saturday, August 20 beginning at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s UCC, 626 Williams Grove Road, Mechanicsburg, PA. A quorum of 225 voting attendees is needed, which would include ALL pastors (retired or active), Board of Director members, and delegates from PCC congregations. The same number of delegates (in most cases two lay members / youth per church, in addition to the pastor) as are represented at Annual meetings are encouraged to attend. The lay delegates need not be the same persons as attended the June Annual Meeting.
A ‘sign in’ registration (by Associations) will be available on August 20th at St. Paul’s, beginning at 12 noon.
The Special Meeting will include a worship service with Rev. Dr. Dawkins-Smith as the preacher of the day. An election will be included in the order of worship, followed by a PIE and ICE CREAM reception. (Blessed Be the Pie that Binds). If you are willing to bring a pie to share that day, please email Dave Bushnell by 8/10 (email@example.com). We expect 40 pies will besufficient.
