Dear Fellow Partners in Peace,

We all believe that young adults need to examine the issues of peacemaking with the hope that a peaceful world may become a reality. This belief motivated our partners to create the first Partners in Peace hosted by Penn Central Conference in 2013. Because of its success, another Partners in Peace program will take place in August of this year on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota. Young adults from Penn Central Conference and its partner churches in Namibia, the UEK, the United Evangelical Churches of Germany, the Southern Conference of the UCC, and the Dakota Association of the United Church of Christ will be gathering to examine different aspects of peace. They will be accompanied by Jacquie Church-Young, adjunct professor at Lancaster Theological Seminary, and Director of Spiritual Formation with Youth.

 You Can Help!

  • If you know of young adults between the ages of 17 and 20 who may be interested in participating in this adventure, provide them with copies of the enclosed application materials and encourage them to apply.
  • You and your church can help by giving a gift in any amount. Simply send your check made out to “Penn Central Conference” with the notation “Partners in Peace”, to the Conference, 900 South Arlington Ave., Room 227A, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
  • Join the planning committee.
  • Fervently pray for the success of this and all such adventures in peacemaking.
